Pathetic promises and harsh realities

Every year the BMC in Mumbai promises that they have made adequate plans for the rains and will be prepared for any eventuality. The fact is however very contrary to the claims. They are totally ill prepared and never forthcoming to admit it. Whatever they prepare, they do it keeping in mind the past trends and not the future requirements. For instance, i live in a locality called Garodianagar in Ghatkopar in Mumbai where the water levels are the same since the last 15 years. That speaks volumes for the preparation of the BMC.I guess the common man like me should come out and do what the BMC cannot. We should come out and get the BMC to do its job and if it cannot we should do it ourselves because ultimately we are the ones who suffer. How long should we take it now?
